Nadia Sawalha has come to the defence of Meghan Markle following all of the backlash the Duchess has received.
The Loose Women presenter, 57, said there are “so many different reasons” why people attack Meghan and that she thinks the whole thing is a “shame”.
But she suggested the trolls might secretly “envy” the romantic relationship Meghan has with her royal husband, Prince Harry.

Nadia spoke exclusively to Daily Star about Meghan’s trolls after teaming up with Théa UK to promote eye health.
The ITV star admitted she couldn’t understand why people were “so angry” at Meghan holding Harry’s hand at the Queen’s funeral back in September.
“I just couldn’t understand why people were so angry about her holding his hand,” she said. “And I thought ‘Maybe this is a romantic thing that people envy.'”
Nadia added: “I have to say when he was opening the car and it was all very dashing and very lovely… I think there’s so many different reasons why people attack her, and I think it’s such a shame.”
The ex-EastEnders star explained she rarely checks Twitter as it’s full of “poison”, adding: “I don’t really look at Twitter and stuff, because I think there’s just so much poison, but I think with any trolling, it’s always about the person that is trolling.”
She also suggested Prince Harry must reunite with his brother, Prince William, to “protect” the royal family.
However, she feared that the Duke of Sussex’s new life in California is a “problem” in the way of his bond with William.
Asked if she thought the Queen’s funeral could have been the catalyst to bring Harry and William together in the future, Nadia replied: “One hopes so, doesn’t one? But I think the problem is, they’re now back in America.”
She added: “It’s just that upbringing that they have to push through and push on. I think more than anything else, it will be the upbringing that eventually brings them back together, because they have to. The thing is protecting the royal family, isn’t it?”
On teaming up with Théa UK’s latest campaign, Nadia said: “I’m just generally very interested in eye health. It’s just so important. I think it’s one of the senses that we fear the most of losing.”
Nadia Sawalha is supporting eyecare experts Théa UK’s ‘Keep a look out for your eyes’ campaign to raise awareness of dry eyes and the importance of looking after our eye health.
