Love Island fans are demanding Gemma Owen's exit after 'brutal' rejection

The eighth series of Love Island has officially kicked off and viewers are all talking about the same islander, Gemma.

Daughter to football legend Michael Owen, the 19-year-old has been branded “rude” with many calling for her exit after episode one.

Gemma was chosen by the public to couple up with masters student Liam Llewellyn, although it seemed she wasn’t too pleased with her new partner.

When speaking one-on-one, the conversation between Gemma and Liam seemed awkward as they tried to get to know each other.

After the 19-year-old admitted she knew what strength and conditioning was, which is what Liam is studying, he asked her to explain what it is.

But Gemma lashed out as she told him not to be a “d**k” and swiftly moved the conversation on.

Liam playfully asked her again to explain what she thought it was, but she hit back saying: ‘I’m not playing that stupid game.”

People were quick to notice her rude comments and observed she appeared desperate to mention who her celebrity father was during their conversation.

However, it was after her brutal rejection to Liam during the first game of the series that riled up viewers at home.

During a game that involved the islanders picking dares out of a box, Gemma was tasked to kiss the person she fancied the most.

Despite being in a couple with Liam, she made a beeline for Italian bombshell Davide, who is eight years older than her.

Liam awkwardly watched as the encounter unfolded in front of him after he was rejected by Gemma.

When it was his turn to complete a dare, he was asked to pick someone to give him a cheeky lap dance, although Gemma made it crystal clear she did not want him to choose her which resulted in him picking Paige.

People were quick to call out Gemma for her brutal rejection with many demanding she be the first one to get the boot.

One viewer said: “Shall we all agree to vote Gemma off as quick as we can?”

While another person added: “Can we all agree to vote Gemma off first please and thank you she’s so rude.”

Someone else commented: “Can we please vote Gemma off, she thinks she has some sort of privilege because of her dad no one knows.”

A fourth viewer said: “Is it time for a public vote? We need Gemma off the show immediately.”

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2
