Love Island fans complained that they’d been “fooled” by ITV producers after believing Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti had been dumped from the villa on Fridays show.
During the bombshell instalment, all remaining islanders were asked to text in the two couples that they felt were least compatible.
As they all paired off to discuss who to vote for, it became evident to viewers watching at home that Ekin-Su and Davide had been voted for by everyone.

Thinking the outcome meant the love-up pair were axed, fans raced to their keyboards to declare that they were “switching off” before narrator Iain Stirling cleared up the situation.
He explained that every single couple would face the public vote as they were all nominated by each other with Ekin-Su and Davide receiving the most with four.
One tweet read: “The producers wouldn’t actually eliminate Davide & Ekin-Su right? Please tell me they’re just playing with us right now? #loveisland.”
Another comment read: “If the producers didn’t do save one couple vote then Ekin-Su and Davide would be going home…. no #LoveIsland.”
A third person responded to those who had believed the pair were goners, writing: “I love how Twitter is having a meltdown because Davide & Ekin-Su got the most votes. #LoveIsland.”
While others penned: “Ekin-Su and Davide are gone no #loveisland” and “Wow producers had me there thinking Ekin-Su and Davide were goners for a moment there. Well done producers #LoveIsland.”
The next couple to be sent packing now lays with the public to decide.
It is probably one of the most brutal times to be dumped from the island with one pair narrowly missing out on the final.
