Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen says she's 'grasping at straws' amid brutal storms

Amanda Owen told fans she was “grasping at straws” after her day on Ravenseat Farm.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star seemed to suggest she was feeling “unsettled” after a rough day on the farm when she took to Instagram with a cryptic post on Sunday evening (February 21)..

TV shepherdess Amanda, 47, caught up with her 491,000 followers as she shared a series of wintry snaps from her farm – which appears on the Channel 5 farming show.

Hinting at tough times, she wrote: “Grasping at straws… And dealing with a [pile of poo emoji] kinda day…” alongside some sheaf of rice emojis.

She added: “A proper dose of wintery weather is preferable to incessant wind and rain.”

The stunning mum-of-nice added a series of hashtags in the post – including: “#yorkshire, #weather, #stormy and #unsettled.”

Amanda posted a windswept selfie which showed her covered in straw, as well as snaps of her farming equipment – followed by one of her children looking cosy in a blue coat.

Amanda’s fans seemed worried about her, and many sent her messages of support in the comments section.

One wrote: “You have a lovely little army around you… Even on the [pile of poo emoji] days… Hope you’re ok Amanda.”

A second commented: “Hope you’re all doing well despite the weather, stay safe.”

A third said: “Farming life must be so incredibly hard & soul crushing sometimes but the rewards must be wonderful. You & your family are such an amazing team & you make it work! I love following all your posts.”

A fourth penned: “Hope your day goes better tomorrow”

A fifth added: “Today was hard work,”

Amanda’s post follows a number of updates from the star about the impact of Storm Eunice on her family’s farm.

The shepherdess revealed she had to re-locate her sheep from the moors before the storm, but luckily the storm didn’t affect the family too much.

Amanda wrote: “A touch of winter but it seems that #StormEunice has given us a miss.”

Offering another update, Amanda admitted she was “in a rush” before Storm Franklin.

She said: “Once again a storm is nigh” alongside the hashtag #stormfranklin, adding: “And we’re in a rush.

“Feeding the hay and ration in the bottom of the rush-bobs does prevent it from becoming instantly sodden or blowing away.”

Amanda lives with her husband Clive and their nine children on Ravenseat Farm.
