BBC Breakfast star Sally Nugent shared a 12 second phone call with co-host Dan Walker before accepting her new role on the show.
The 50-year-old journalist began filling in as a temporary host on the iconic red sofa 10 years ago.
However, she was made main presenter on the programme since October last year following the departure of Louise Minchin.
She has opened up about how she accepted her role and the question she asked Dan before agreeing to the presenting job.
Speaking to The Mirror, Sally said: “I did have a 12 second conversation with Dan before all of this started where I said, ‘You are staying for a bit aren’t you?’ And he went, ‘Yeah, I think so.’
“So I was like right. Cool. I’m not new for him really as a co-host, as we have known each other for a long time.
“We’ve got each other’s back.”
The mother of one recently opened up about her early morning routine.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Sally said: “My alarm goes off at 3.45am. I don’t have a loud, scary one that gives you a coronary.
“I use a light box that gently wakes me. I have a back-up phone alarm set every five minutes from 3.50am.”
Sally has previously described her exciting new role as “one of the best jobs in telly”.
Back in October, Sally said about her new job: “I’m absolutely thrilled to become the new presenter of BBC Breakfast and bring the nation the latest news, top entertainment guests and stories that matter every week.
“It’s an honour to take the reins from Louise and be part of the UK’s most watched breakfast show.”
Dan tweeted at the time that he was “so happy” for Sally.
He penned: “She is a brilliant presenter, massively popular with the team, an excellent journalist and a great friend.
“Hopefully we’ll have many happy years on the #BBCBreakfast sofa together.”
BBC Breakfast airs every day from 6am on BBC One
