Strictly Come Dancing bosses eyeing up Sarah Ferguson for BBC dance show

Strictly bosses have their eye on The Duchess Of York.

They think the estranged wife of under-fire Andy Windsor will be a huge coup.

And insiders reckon ratings would rocket as Fergie’s appearance would coincide with her ex’s lawsuit over sex abuse allegations.

A source said: “Having Fergie on telly at the same time as Andy is facing his legal nightmare would make it fascinating for viewers.”

Fergie is on the hitlist for Strictly in the UK where judges include Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood.

She is also wanted for the show’s US counterpart Dancing With The Stars where Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli are on the panel.

In the US Fergie once said: “I’d quite like to go on Dancing With The Stars. I’d like them to teach me the tango.”

How would Fergie cope with Craig’s feedback?

They think the “fun loving” royal “with great energy” would be a huge draw for their audiences later this year.

Fergie, 62, has made no secret she is a fan of the show.

Last year when she was asked by gardener Alan Titchmarsh if she would consider taking to the TV ballroom, she joked: “I can just see the front pages ‘Fergie Fails’.”

However, she refused to give a definitive answer as to whether she would do the show.

Andrew would probably not be in the audience

But it looks like dancing on the telly could be in her sights, as in the US she once told reporters: “I’d quite like to go on Dancing with the Stars. I’d like them to teach me the tango.”

The mum of two would be seen as a major A list star for both line-ups.

Source say she could command a huge pay packet – especially for the US edition of the show which could offer around a million dollars to book her.

The former couple are still close

The BBC show usually airs in Autumn and stays on air in the lead-up to the festive period.

Each year bosses pull in big names to join the dance floor, but Fergie would be the biggest celebrity tipped to join the line-up since its initial launch.
