The Apprentice boss Sir Alan Sugar has been ridiculed for moaning about the use of Scouse accents in a Liverpool drama.
He baffled his Twitter followers by whingeing there were too many Liverpool dialects in The Responder.
He wrote: “Why did the BBC make Martin Freeman speak with a Liverpool accent in The Responder? Hard to follow what he and other cast are saying.
“No disrespect to people of Liverpool they are nice down-to-earth people. My wife gave up watching, she said she could not understand a word.”
One angry fan replied: “It’s set in Liverpool. That’s… I’m not sure how to answer.”
Other viewers had a go at the way Lord Sugar, 74, speaks.
One said: “I have a similar issue when I hear you on TV: it just sounds like waffle and hot air.”
Another follower said: “Use subtitles… shame to miss it cause it’s really good!”
Freeman, 50, spoke to himself in a Liverpudlian accent for 18 months to prepare for the hard-hitting cop drama.
He said: “I walked around for a year-and-a-half, occasionally just talking to myself in Scouse.
“Even though you’re not always the best judge of your own thing, I do trust my ear.
“There are some accents where you don’t want to be in that city among the inhabitants making a balls up of it.”
Meanwhile, Lord Sugar is back on screens with the latest series of The Apprentice.
Last week, Navid Sole became the next candidate to be fired by the business boss, meaning his dreams of expanding his pharmacy empire were ruined.
