The Chase fans brand show 'abysmal' after epic loss and 'disappointing' prize fund

Fans of The Chase took to Twitter to complain about today’s episode after the team failed to impress viewers.

Bradley welcomed a team of contestants that wanted to try their hand at winning a cash prize on today’s show but many of the questions were either fluffed or passed before the Chaser came on.

Gillian, Mike, Linda and Barry all stood up against Darragh in a bid to win big or go home, but it seems for many of them, the latter was their only option.

Gillian, a marketing intern from Belfast, decided to go for a low offer after her cash builder round and made it back to the table by the skin of her teeth.

The contestants tried their best but didn’t manage to beat the Chaser

Darragh tweeted during the episode and said that “sometimes the low offer is the right one” after she was inundated with backlash online.

She did, however, encourage the next person, Mike, to go for the middle offer, which left some fans infuriated, but ultimately, it was necessary.

Only Gillian and Mike managed to get through and take part in the final chase.

The team went up against Irish quizzer Darragh Ennis and only managed to secure themselves a measly £4000 prize fund, losing two members along the way.

The final two contestants made it through to the final round but failed to beat Darragh as he stormed through 14 questions before kicking them out of the competition.

Viewers were quick to share their disappointment over the episode as the contestants seemed to get dropped out so quickly.

One fan tweeted: “Worst episode of The Chase ever.”

Fans blasted the show on Twitter

Another said: “Tonight’s Chase?” and attached a video of Simon Cowell saying ‘absolutely awful.’

“Well, that’s an hour of my life that I won’t get back,” commented another.

Although it wasn’t a strong stint for the guests, fans will be able to watch more people give it a go in the next round of episodes set to air next week.

The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
