Rapper B. Smyth has passed away aged 28 following a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
His brother Denzil shared the tragic events in a clip posted to the late star’s Instagram page on Thursday (November 18).
Denzil explained in the short video to B, Smyth’s 158,000 followers: “Today regretfully I have to announce that my brother has passed away this morning from respiratory failure after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

He said in accompanying footage that his late brother reaped joy from seeing the fan reaction to his single Twerkoholic Part 2 during his illness.
“All those new TikToks and Instagram reels made him really, really happy.,” he said.

“And he was able to have a smoother process, it gave all the love and light you were sending on social media, he really felt it and sunk into it.”
He said in the caption, “My brother was very excited to see a lot of you create challenges for his latest released single #Twerkoholic part 2 while he was in the ICU, it really brought him a big smile to his face.
“So on behalf of my brother and my family we want to say thank you to all of you for all of your love and support throughout the years.
“We ask for privacy during these difficult times. We also want to say thank you for all of your prayers.”
Denzil finished the emotional post in writing, ‘#RIPBSMYTH Love you bro!’
Fans have since taken to social media to pay tribute to R&B star B.Smuth following the shock news of his death.
One fan penned: “Rest In Peace to B Smyth yo that kid was super talented.”

Another added: “I can’t believe B.Smyth died, he was supposed to sing at my future wedding.”
A third person wrote: “RIP B. Smyth!”
While a fourth said: “Mr. Twerkaholic himself has died y’all. Can’t believe it.”
B.Smyth, real name Brandon Smith, shot to fame after recording covers on YouTube such as Rihanna’s Stay and Miguel’s Quickie.
His first single Leggo was released in 2012, which featured 2 Chainz, after signing with Motown Record and rose on the Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart to the number 12 spot.

He also worked with rapper Future on the 2013 single Win Win from his EP The Florida Files.
His 2014 song Twerkoholic garnered more than 13 million Spotify streams and 17 million views on YouTube.
Last month, he released the single Twerkoholic Part 2.
A memorial service will be held in memory of the Florida-born rapper, Denzil has said.
