Billy Crystal, “A Strange Loop” and More to Perform in a Broadway Event

Billy Crystal, Shoshana Bean and performers from “Company,” “MJ,” “A Strange Loop,” “Six” and other Tony-nominated shows will share songs and stories.

Enjoy songs and stories from Tony-nominated Broadway musicals, with Billy Crystal, Shoshana Bean, the cast of “A Strange Loop,” and stars from “Company,” “Girl From the North Country,” “MJ,” “Paradise Square” and “Six.”

The 2022 Tony Awards nominations make clear that Broadway’s reopening season has been anything but dull.

The ceremony will be held on June 12 at Radio City Music Hall, but there is much to discuss before then.

So on May 26, The New York Times will host performers from Tony-nominated musicals for an afternoon of song and conversation with The Times’s theater reporter, Michael Paulson.

The event will be live streamed for Times subscribers, who can R.S.V.P. above to join the virtual audience. A limited number of in-person tickets will be made available to Times subscribers and to New York City students interested in theater.

Performers will include:

  • Billy Crystal and Shoshana Bean, both nominated for their roles in the musical “Mr. Saturday Night”;

  • Matt Doyle of “Company,” the Stephen Sondheim and George Furth musical, who is nominated for best featured actor;

  • Myles Frost, star of “MJ,” nominated for his Broadway debut role as Michael Jackson;

  • Keirsten Nicole Hodgens, Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert, Courtney Mack and Mallory Maedke from “Six: The Musical,” about the wives of Henry VIII;

  • Joaquina Kalukango, the Tony-nominated star of “Paradise Square,” a musical about Black and Irish New Yorkers during the Civil War;

  • Austin Scott and cast members from the musical “Girl From the North Country,” which combines Bob Dylan songs with a story set in a 1930s boardinghouse;

  • Jaquel Spivey, star of the musical “A Strange Loop,” which received the most nominations of any show this season, including one for Spivey, who is making his Broadway debut. He will perform with his castmates, two of whom, L Morgan Lee and John-Andrew Morrison, also received Tony nods.

We hope you’ll join us.
