A Place in the Sun viewers was left flabbergasted after a brazen couple managed to purchase a property with a ‘cheeky’ under-budget offer.
Paul and Nicola were on the Channel 4 show on Friday (Jan 27) with host Ben Hillman as they tried to land a property in Lanzarote.
The duo, from Merseyside, Liverpool wanted to find a Canary Islands home after falling in love with the island nearly 20 years ago while on holiday with their three sons.

The pair – and host Ben – identified Puerta del Carmen as a potential site the pair could settle down.
The duo had a string of requirements for the property: saying it must boast one to two bedrooms, a pool and some outdoor space.
After seeing five properties, the couple fell in love with a one-bed home that was on the market for £198k – well over their budget.
Host Ben said: “Guys, welcome to Matagorda.”

Nicola replied: “This is the best place in Puerto del Carmen.”
He said: “I love it.”
Nicola said: “Sold!”
Ben joked: “You know that’s probably the easiest property search I’ve ever had.”
The buyer explained: “This is where we stay. We’ve stayed in Matagorda, we’ve stayed in so many different places in Matagorda. This is fantastic.”

Ben told the couple: “The two properties you’ve liked are the two properties that are over budget.”
The pair decided to make an offer despite being £18,000 shy in their budget. The pair opted to go low with their first offer – with just £162k.
Remarkably, Ben announced they were successful as he said: “£165,000 and that place is yours.”
Viewers took to Twitter after seeing the couple’s brazen offer as they couldn’t believe they managed to land the huge deal.
