Adele has shared the real reason she doesn’t want to move back to the United Kingdom after fleeing England for Los Angeles in 2016.
The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker initially said it was to “get more for her money” in the US – but now there’s something else keeping her from coming back to Blighty. With a whopping net worth of £146million, it’s no wonder the star doesn’t have to worry about cash any longer.
She wowed fans with a lengthy residency in Las Vegas and has since settled down with her rumoured husband Rich Paul, an American sports agent. But even her partner isn’t the main reason she won’t go back home.

Instead, it’s California’s sunny climate that’s keeping her in place. She told The Hollywood Reporter: “I get really bad seasonal depression, so the weather is good for me. It is strange sometimes, because I’m very British. Because it’s a bit harder for me to go out nowadays, what I love the most about LA is everyone goes to each other’s houses. I like that.”

She previously told British Vogue about her wise investments, splashing out on three separate mansions in Beverly Hills. She said: “The kind of house I have in LA I could never afford in London. Ever.”
Adele purchased an eight-bedroom house that previously belonged to Sylvester Stallone for $37.7million, as well as three LA mega-mansions on the same street. House prices in London, she revealed, were “hundreds of millions of pounds”. She confessed: “I don’t have that much money at all. I’d throw up.”
But now it appears she’s added two Kensington townhouses to her property portfolio, after flogging her West Sussex mansion for £7.2million in 2018. She also sold her Brighton beach house for £350,000 two years previously.

In her latest interview, Adele also dropped some revelations about her romance with Rich Paul – which she has been keeping on the down-low. She revealed: “Rich and I have always known everything about each other since the day we got together.
“Richard does [listen to my music], it drives me insane. And it’s funny because in my car with my driver, he knows if my song comes on, he has to turn the radio, just turn it off. I don’t like it at all.”

But she’s already “f***ing sick” of one of Rich’s habits, as she informed the audience at one of her Vegas shows. She said: “My partner is a sports agent. He does basketball players and footballers. I’d been missing the football season, but I’m already f***ing sick of it. His whole weekend is just booked with just watching games.
“I just don’t understand the game. And it’s so annoying because I’m actually quite a clever person. And I really do like sports. I don’t understand it. I just don’t. Why did the whistle always get blown? Why is it four yards? Why is there inches? Why does it stop when it gets f***ing exciting?”
