Ant and Dec Limitless Win fans say same thing as players fail to make ITV show history

Ant and Dec Limitless Win players almost made history as they were close to winning the biggest ever prize won on the ITV1 gameshow – and in British TV history.

Headed up by TV icons Ant and Dec, the Geordie duo welcomed mum and son team Tracey-Jane and Troy Beaumont on Saturday, February 4.

Working together, the duo managed to reach the highest ever position on the show’s money ladder, climbing to more than £1 million, but failing to take anything home.

The Liverpudlian Doctor Who superfans even received a video message from David Tennant before answering a series of questions, but it failed to work in their favour as a good luck charm.

Troy, 23, and mum Tracey-Jane, 58, ended up winning nothing after falling at the final hurdle and losing out on a life-changing £1.25million.

The duo had dreamed of going to America for a trip, but walked away with nothing after a question about boxing caught them out.

“Wait, so they didn’t win anything? That’s cruel,” penned one fan on Twitter as the tense show unfolded.

When the players realised they had lost, they looked very upset but remained composure

“Absolutely gutted for Troy and Tracey-Jane! They were so unlucky with some of the questions! They should be so proud,” wrote a second viewer under the show’s hashtag.

A third then chimed in: “Shame they didn’t win anything but exciting to watch!”

While a fourth emotionally wrote: “Never been more gutted for people on a gameshow. What has my life become?”

Ant and Dec were also gutted for the players as the latest series wrapped up

The previous highest amount won on the beloved show headed up by the Geordie duo was £500,000 in series one.

This comes after Dec exclusively spoke to Daily Star about the episode, where he said: “We got very giddy as we’ve never been that far up the ladder before.

“The excitement and atmosphere in the studio was electric.”

Limitless Win returned for series two on Christmas Day 2022.
