BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood was interrupted live on air after being hit with snowballs.
The 61-year-old presenter was on hand to offer the latest weather forecast live from Stroud’s Snow Business International Ltd on Wednesday (December 20) morning however things didn’t quite go to plan.
Hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent quizzed Carol on whether or not if will be a white Christmas next week as she was surrounded by fake snow. Carol shared: “The chances are on the tops of the hills in the north, particularly Scotland, there might be.”

As Carol ended her segment, she was suddenly hit with snowballs thrown by people off-camera, Shocked presenter Sally could be heard saying: “Don’t you dare do that to Carol.” As she tried to hand back over to the studio, Jon joked: “No, we’re going to stay for more of this.”
Carol added: “You can’t get the staff, Sal.” before adding “I’m off” as she walked off screen. Sally continued: “How would anyone dare throw a snowball at the queen of weather?” Jon shouted: “Merry Christmas, Carol. We need her back for Christmas Day, she’s with us Christmas morning. I bet there’s people in Stroud looking out their windows, looking at their TVs and looking back out their windows, it’s all fake.”
It comes after Sally was issued a cheeky warning by co-star John Watson live on air during Tuesday’s (December 19) episode as she opened up about her childhood dream. As a clip of young riders putting a group of ponies through their paces aired, Sally said: “That was my dream when I was little, to be in the Shetland pony Grand National, never made it.” She added: “Someone in my ear just said ‘it’s never too late’, I think it is too late. I think that ship has sailed.”

John joked to Sally: “You shouldn’t admit to those things, I’m sure there’s a Breakfast VT in there.” Since October 2021, she has presented BBC Breakfast along with Dan Walker, Naga Munchetty, Charlie Stayt and Jon.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One at 6am
