BBC Breakfast guest Johnny Vegas unrecognisable as fans blown away by 'sharp' appearance

Johnny Vegas had fans blown away with his “sharp” appearance on the BBC Breakfast sofa this week.

The comedian chatted to hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent about the new series of his Channel 4 show Carry On Glamping – as well as being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult.

But fans were distracted by his unrecognisable appearance on the programme, with Johnny looking very dapper in a charcoal grey tweed blazer and black polo shirt.

The star added a pair of smart black trousers and brown leather shoes to his ensemble, donning a pair of thick-rimmed glasses and slicking his hair back with gel.

Fans soon took to Twitter to comment, with one gushing: “@JohnnyVegasReal looking incredibly sharp on #BBCBreakfast!”

Another fan agreed: “He looks great! Loving the jacket.”

Someone else posted: “Great to see @JohnnyVegasReal on @BBCBreakfast – very funny, but interesting too.”

As a fourth penned: “Turned on the TV and for the first time in for ever watched a bit of @BBCBreakfast. Why? Because @JohnnyVegasReal was on. What a legend he is.”

On the programme, Johnny delved deeper into his ADHD diagnosis and what it means for him.

Jon asked him: “It’s interesting, you’re talking about being busy with all this stuff going on in your life, because you constantly like to be active.

“We’ve been talking this morning about adults getting diagnosed with ADHD and I know that’s something you’ve talked about in the past, isn’t it?”

Johnny responded: “Yeah, I have. I think it was always kicked around as a notion, but yeah. I’m very careful about things like this and discussing it, but I was diagnosed before Christmas.

“So eventually I sort of bit the bullet and went in, and I’ve got friends who have been diagnosed. So I’m in the very early stages of working through meds and things like that,” he explained.

“It just answers a lot of questions about behavioural issues in the past.”

Jon Kay pressed him: “What difference does that diagnosis make?”, as the comedian told him: “I think it’s just… a lot of things make sense. Just that sense of disorganisation and doing basic tasks.

“Everybody has an element of it – it’s how strong your filter is, I think. And I don’t have a filter at all, and things just become very time consuming.”

Giving an example, Johnny said: “Like, I’ll think, ‘Oh, I’ll shift that cup’ – but then you have 10 other ideas and you haven’t shifted that cup, and a few weeks later it’ll still be there.

“Someone will go, ‘Why haven’t you shifted that?’ and you go, ‘Because it became this monumental task that built up’.

“It’s just, I suppose, how your brain organises itself. It helps make sense of a lot of things at school.

“But I’m only just on the verge of learning about it,” he said.
