BBC Strictly’s Neil Jones exposes which pro dancer will take over as chief prankster

Strictly Come Dancing professional Neil Jones has revealed which dancer has taken over as the cheeky prankster on the BBC set as he settles down with fiancée Chyna Mills.

Loyal fans of the beloved ballroom competition will remember when the fiery redhead joined the star-studded cast back in 2016. Since then, he has gone on to choreograph several stellar routines across the series as well as teach several celebrities for the Christmas Day special, most recently including Rosie Ramsey.

But viewers rarely get to see what the stars get up to backstage while the other contestants are performing for the audience. Now, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the doting dad has given fans a glimpse behind the curtain on life as a dancer on the long-running ballroom show.

He told us: “Everyone says I’m the prankster, but I feel like I’m becoming a little bit less. I did my fair share of pranks back in the day. I definitely have my moments but I’m a little bit more relaxed now.

“A lot of the tour was a bit different for me this time because while we’re on the arena tour I actually found out that I was going to be a dad. We talked about it and we just never thought it would happen so quick because when we decided to try for a child, it literally happened straight away.”

Neil has been known to cause chaos on the beloved BBC set in between routines with his wild pranks which he takes with him on the nationwide tour. A source previously told The Sun some of the cheeky tricks he pulled on his co-stars over the years.

They told the publication: “Neil has a playful sense of humour and thinks it is hilarious to play pranks on pals in between shows. His favourites include wrapping peoples’ belongings in cling film, moving their cars to different spots in the car park and putting mustard in their shoes.

“Once he ordered the entire breakfast menu at the hotel the cast were staying in and had it delivered to Tyler West. Tyler was obviously bemused by how it happened and bosses had to step in to sort things out,” they added.

The TV star went on to admit that although he would be putting an end to his wild pranks, he warned his co-stars that they can still expect cheeky tricks on set. He revealed that he has since passed the torch to his co-star Gorka Marquez who will continue to keep the celebrities and their pro dancers on their toes.

He revealed: “Nikita and Carlos, they normally, they like to take their time with everything which I think is hilarious. They’re not divas but they’ve just got this personality and for me I love all the different personalities on set.”
