Jeremy Vine has apologised after an on-air faux pas was aired live on his BBC radio show.
Vine, 58, was hosting his BBC Radio 2 show on Monday (September 4) when he made the awkward blunder.
The broadcaster was discussing the concrete scandal, where schools up and down the country have been shut due to be being built with potentially dangerous concrete.

The concrete – termed RAAC – was used as cost-saving mechanism decades previously, but has since been proven to be unstable, leading to buildings with the concrete being at risk of collapsing.
Getting reaction to the story, Jeremy was reading out viewers’ comments to the incident.

One fan had written to the Eggheads host to say: “France has banned RAAC concrete. We accept it. That says it all.
“Successive governments in this country have been incapable of keeping our kids safe.”
As he read the comment out, he began to play Beyoncé’s Halo, and began to lead into the song as the opening bars of the track started playing.
Jeremy also mentioned a video of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dancing to Beyoncé before introducing the song and cutting his mic off.
The song then began, with Beyoncé crooning the opening lines: “Remember those walls I built / Well baby, they’re tumbling down.”

Immediately fans took to social media to express their dismay at Jeremy’s song choice.
One listener posted a recording of the blunder on Twitter, captioning the post “Almost crashed the car when I heard this (wait for the song).
“Still deciding whether the music scheduler should be sacked or given a pay rise.”
Other fans of the broadcaster shared their thoughts on the incident, with one user writing: “I’m sure no offence was intended, but it was the best laugh I’ve had in ages.”
Another sympathised with Jeremy, saying: “Alan Partridge would be proud.”

Whilst another took a more serious tone: “Should be sacked, Vine. This is unexplainable.”
After the incident, the veteran radio presenter stayed silent on the debacle.
But Jeremy himself eventually addressed the drama on Twitter on Monday evening, confessing: “This is on me. Apologies everyone.”
