Britney Spears loses staggering £1.5m after selling home just one year after buying it

Britney Spears’ decision to part with her Calabasas mansion just a year after purchasing it with husband Sam Asghari appears to have resulted in a huge £1.5million loss for the former pop superstar.

Brit, 41, shelled out a cool £9.8m for the property before relisting it at a slightly higher price shortly afterwards.

No quick sale was forthcoming – until now it seems – after housing records indicated the Toxic singer had accepted an offer of around £8.3m for the stunning crib.

With soaring interest rates and falling property value in the US, however, Britney is likely to have lost even more over time on the home, which is situated in relatively close proximity to that of her ex – Kevin Federline and their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden.

The new owner of the home – which boasts seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms – is reportedly a Texas-based personal injury lawyer, according to TMZ.

Britney and her spouse have already moved back into her previous abode in Thousand Oaks, meanwhile.

Earlier this year Britney said her fans had gone “too far” after “prank calls” prompted a police visit to her home over concerns for her welfare.

She later wrote on Twitter about maintaining her privacy and that she felt like she was being “gaslit” and “bullied”.

Britney said: “As everyone knows the police were called to my home based on some prank phone calls,” adding: “‘I love and adore my fans, this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded.

“The police never entered my home,” and they reportedly left shortly after arriving at her gate, finding “no issue”.

Britney continued: “This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media.”

Officers sent to the property from Ventura County Sheriff’s office later ascertained that “there was no reason to believe she was in danger”.
