Coronation Street’s Sally Metcalfe actress Sally Dynevor has sadly suffered a family loss, and has been supported by her fans and co-stars.
The 59-year-old soap starlet took to social media on Sunday night (January 15) to share the news that her mother-in-law had sadly passed away.
Sally’s mother-in-law, Shirley Dynevor, was 90 years of age and a fellow famous actress, who starred in Rogue Male and Crown Court.

Sharing two snaps of her mother-in-law on Instagram, Sally simply wrote: “Shirley,” alongside a slew of red heart emojis.
Pals, fans and colleagues were quick to flock to the comments to support the star.
Lisa George, who portrays Beth Tinker, commented: “Gorgeous woman and so lucky I got the chance to meet her.”
Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, wrote: “Wow, I thought that was Phoebe. Bless her. Sending love to you all.”
Sally’s husband Tim also took to social media to share the news of his mother’s passing, with many supporting him in the comments.
Sharing a photo of his beloved mum, he wrote: “Mum – May 15, 1933 – January 10, 2023.”
Sally Carman, who plays Abi Franklin in Corrie, wrote: “Thinking of you,” with some yellow heart emojis.
While Sian Powers actress Sacha Parkinson said: “Sending lots of love to you all.”
Phoebe Dynevor, Sally’s Bridgerton star daughter, also paid tribute on social media.
It is not yet known what Shirley, who shot to fame in the 50s, died from.
90-year-old Shirley was born in 1933 in Cardiff, Wales, and shot to fame in the 1950s.
In the late 50s Shirley’s popularity grew when she starred in the beloved TV series Charlesworth.
The actress was married to Gerard Dynevor, who sadly died in 1966.
