Dec Donnelly has spent an eye-watering £2million to secure the house next door to his fancy London home in a bid to spruce the home up.
The I’m A Celebrity host, 48, splashed the cash after he spent a total of £2.25 million to bag the house after the building fell into disrepair. This new investment adds to the huge £7million he has spent around his Chiswick pad.
Amongst the new amenities he has built into his lavish home, there is a cinema, steamroom, a swimming pool and a poolside kitchen for Dec and his wife to enjoy. Now Dec and wife Ali Astall, 45, are expanding once again as they buy the house next door, which had been dubbed an “eyesore” after being turned into flats.

In an effort to breathe some life back into the property, the couple have since been revealed to have applied to extend the home on the back and the side of the house. Speaking to The Sun, a source close to the couple said that the couple’s move was being welcomed by their neighbours.
“The street Dec lives on is very swanky and lined with large detached houses and his place is one of the most impressive mansions there,” the source said. “But other neighbours have taken less care of their properties and the one bang next door to Dec had been allowed to become a bit of an eyesore.”
They continued: “Most people would have to live with seeing it go to rack and ruin but Dec has taken the initiative and snapped it up when it came on the market. The front has already been secured and boarded up ready for the rebuild and the planning application has gone in. And if it’s a patch on Dec’s place when it’s done, it’ll be a terrific investment.”
It has yet to be confirmed whether Dec will keep the building once all the repair work is done or whether he will sell it in a bid to make his money back. As a result, however, his move to snap up the property means he is sat on a multi-million pound property empire that adds to his growing wealth.
His real estate move comes after an old clip of Dec and his partner in crime Ant resurfaced nearly thirty years after it was shown on TV. Performing on This Morning, the pair – who had shot to fame as PJ and Duncan on Byker Grove – were seen rapping to their track “Eternal Love”.
Sporting some questionable outfits, with both wearing long-sleeved baseball shirts, Ant and Dec were left cringing as the the clip made its way into the minds of thousands of new people. And it seems that neither were particularly thrilled with the video coming back, as the pair joked in a comment that it was “a difficult watch” for them.
However, the cheeky chaps were inundated with love and support from famous faces and fans alike. Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley joked she had watched the performance around 100 times before she commented, whilst former host Richard Madeley’s daughter Chloe chuckled: “Made my year.”
