“Are you ok?” the Charlie’s Angels actress asked. “Did anything happen?”
Barrymore then approached the fan, who was later identified as Olivia from Salt Lake City, Utah.
Wearing a green pant suit, Barrymore jokingly asks: “Whose a** do I have to kick?”
Clearly overwhelmed, Olivia attempts to compose herself as her friend explains why she has become emotional.
“She loves you so much,” said Olivia’s friend.
“Oh, thank God it’s nothing bad,” replied Barrymore as the studio audience burst into laughter. “Did you see me coming up here? I was like ‘ Tell me where they are! Because I will take them down,” continued the actress. “Who made you cry!”
Having regained her composure, Olivia spoke about why she had been overwhelmed.
“You’re just, like, my childhood idol,” she said. “I don’t want to be that person, to like, cry.”
Barrymore then replies: “Screw that! Be that person.” The audience then applauded as Olivia burst into tears again.

“I really love you,” sobbed Olivia. “I am so sorry.”
Barrymore then climbed into the audience and sat on Olivia’s knee, adding: “I don’t know why I have the urge to do this.
“This is just such an honour for me to meet you, I’m sorry, I have dumpling breath. And it’s so funny that you would say, ‘I don’t wanna cry here.’ I cry here all the time.”
Social media users were quick to applaud the talk show host for her interaction.
“As an audience member at this filming, this really touched me,” commented one user.
“My friends and I were discussing how much of a different experience this show is compared to others. Drew’s vulnerability is so beautiful IRL. A hero for us emotional queens,” added another.
A third said: “I feel like Drew sitting on my lap would permanently rewire my brain and cure my lifelong existential angst and insomnia and anxiety.”
