EastEnders’ Stacey Slater’s oldest child, Lily, couldn’t believe what she was hearing as the market trader spoke candidly to her own mum about her personal and financial struggles.
In recent weeks, the Slater family have been rocked over Lily’s pregnancy was uncovered by doctors after she was rushed to hospital after collapsing.
Following a New Year’s Eve party at their family home, it later emerged that she was suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning before doctors ran further tests and discovered she was pregnant, aged 12.

The school girl recently left her mum and step-dad Martin Fowler concerned when she suggested she may keep her unborn baby.
During Wednesday night’s episode, Stacey burst into tears as she sat down with Jean and revealed the true extent of her worries.
Earlier in the episode, Stacey was left in a state of panic when her burger van broke down causing her to lose money, on the same day Rish and Suki Panesar put her rent up.
In emotional scenes, Stacey broke down as she said: “Great, it’s just everything else,” as Jean explained her van could be fixed for free.
Stacey went on to add: “Did Eve tell you that the rent’s gone up? Mum, my 12-year-old little girl is thinking of having a baby, I told Martin she’d make the right choice, but I don’t know if she will.
“I don’t even know if that’s the right choice at all. I just know that we can’t afford to feed another mouth, what are we going to do?”
However, Lily was standing in the doorway of the family living room as she overheard her mum pouring her heart out over the shocking news.
But Jean appeared to reassure her youngest child, saying: “Babies, breakdowns, deaths, divorces, we’ve had it all Stacey, we’ll muddle our way through this.
“We have to.”
Earlier this week, Lily said that Ricky Jr is the dad of her unborn child but fans have predicted that all may not be as it seems in Albert Square.
In what would be a sickening twist, some viewers believe that her cousin Freddie, who is 18, could actually be the dad.
They reckon that, during Monday’s episode (January 9), he was acting very strange.
One person said: “Freddie does look really guilty but I think that EastEnders wants us to think that so they can throw a curveball. I think the Slaters will think he is the dad (even though he’s not) and reveal his paternity in an argument comparing him to his real father.”
Another said: “Now they’re making Freddie act all suspicious.”
A third said: “Freddie seemed a bit too defensive in that questioning. I still think there’s a twist to this Lily storyline.”
