Kellie Bright has broken her silence after her character Linda Carter was exposed as the newest EastEnders killer.
Fans of the BBC One soap have been buzzing for this year’s Christmas Day episode since the BBC soap aired a special flash forward episode back in February teasing a shock death with Linda, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) gathered around a dead boy in the at the Queen Vic.
Monday’s (December 25) dramatic hour-long episode finally pieced together exactly what happened and in a special 15-minute spin-off show titled EastEnders: The Six – Whodunnit with former EastEnders star Joe Swash, Kellie broke her silence on Linda stabbing Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).

An angry Keanu confronted Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) after she cancelled their wedding after finding out he was behind the kidnapping of her son Albie. He turned up to the Queen Vic just minutes after Denise Fox (Diane Parish) smashed a glass bottle over Nish Panesar’s (Navin Chowdhry) head after he turned violent against Suki Panser (Balvinder Sopal).
As Nish was feared dead, Keanu came to the Vic and started becoming aggressive towards Sharon but in a moment of madness, Linda grabbed a knife and stabbed Keanu. In a clip shown on the special BBC Three spin-off show, EastEnders executive producer Chris Clenshaw was seen pulling Kellie in for a secret meeting back in September
After he eventually told her that Linda is the killer, Kellie said: “Are you joking? Oh no. I don’t mind being the murderer. Oh Jesus, why have you done this to me? I didn’t see that coming.” The actress was later seen asking Chris about the body on the floor and she was gobsmacked to learn she’d be bumping off Keanu.
It comes after Chris revealed that he was “incredibly pleased” that fans have been gripped by the storyline over the past 10 months. He said: “We’re incredibly pleased with the positive reaction to the flash forward and The Six storyline since February. It’s been a long time in the making and the Christmas Day reveal really is an episode to watch live on Christmas Day.
“We’re thrilled with the buzz around The Six. It’s exactly what we hoped for; we hoped people would chat, we hoped people would speculate, we hoped that everyone would come up with their own theories and share those theories with one another. We wanted it to be a storyline that brings the viewers together too, and we’re over the moon that it seems to be doing that and the audience are enjoying being a part of it.”
“The events of Christmas Day lead to The Six – Stacey, Suki, Linda, Sharon, Denise and Kathy – being bound together and it’s safe to say that none of their lives will ever be the same again. We’ve had several methods in place throughout the entire year to keep the storyline a secret and to ensure that the Christmas Day episode and the big reveal of who’s on the floor – plus who does it – remains under wraps until the 25th December,’ Chris explained.
“Sadly, I can’t reveal what those methods are as that would give everything away, but it would be a real shame if anyone spoiled the surprise as we know how much the audience love watching the drama unfold in real-time.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
