BBC soap EastEnders made a last-minute change to Thursday’s episode (June 8) upon broadcast – and fans are not too keen.
Bosses of the much-loved SHOW were forced to film a brand new scene referencing West Ham’s victory in the Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina.
The new addition features an appearance of Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), celebrating in the famous Queen Vic.

After the scene aired, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts – and it’s fair to say they were not impressed.
“It’s so cringey whenever Eastenders try to be current. The Coronation and now West Ham,” fumed one person.
Another raged: “F**k off with this West Ham s**t,” as a third quipped: “West Ham on the bloody Eastenders now.”
While other viewers were totally for the footy reference, with one fan writing: Love that #Eastenders added a scene for West Ham’s win! Love it when they have topical scenes in.”
Another supportive social media user wrote: “Nice touch that #WestHam got a mention.”
Echoing their thoughts, a third fan proclaimed: “The last minute West Ham scene,” followed by several hand clapping emojis.
It was the footy club’s first major win for 43 years and celebs like EastEnders’ legend Danny Dyer was over the moon with the news.
What’s more, the winning goal was scored by Jarrod Bowen – who is the baby daddy of Dani Dyer.
The ex-Love Islander announced her relationship with Bowen on The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan in late 2021 and the loved-up couple welcomed twin girls into the world weeks before West Ham’s European showdown.
Dani announced the arrival of her twin girls on Instagram on May 25, with just the date of their birth and a gorgeous picture of them in matching pink babygrows and headbands.
Dani, 26, is already mum to Santiago, from her relationship with her ex Sammy Kimmence.
