Sex scenes are awkward at the best of times, never mind when you’re a newcomer to it all. And that was exactly the situation Emilia Clarke found herself in during the early seasons of Game of Thrones.
Lucky for her, however, co-star Jason Momoa was able to lighten the mood, catching the real-life Daenerys Targaryen out with a prank that left his penis looking “huge, pink and fluffy”.
The two actors famously got on brilliantly on set and the Aquaman star, who played stoic Khal Drogo, clearly wasn’t shy about trying to make Emilia feel comfortable during some deeply unpleasant scenes to shoot.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, Emilia discussed one prank during an early – and violent – sex scene.
“There was the lovely, erm, the lovely rape scene early on in season one… so obviously, there’s nudity and you kind of have to try to lighten the mood.
“Not only was it a sex scene, it was a violent sex scene, so he decided for one of the scenes… not use a modesty sock, but use a beautiful pink, fluffy sock.
“So, getting that close-up of me looking petrified, just like’ I didn’t want it to happen, it’s huge and it’s pink and I don’t know what to do!'”

Discussing the same incident, Jason admitted that he went out to buy some “fluffy pink polka dot socks with little animals” which he then proceeded to put in “appropriate places”.
“I turn around and I’m walking towards her and am just doing ridiculous moves just to make fun of her close-up, and she’s trying to hold it together, but she keeps laughing,” the 43-year-old said.

“And I was like: ‘I’m the only f***er in here naked! I don’t see anything more appropriate than me having a good time. I mean, this is awkward. Just let me make her laugh and I’ll try to get through this.'”
