Elsewhere Amelia Spencer, Noah and Samson Dingle are clearly struggling to look after baby Esther financially leaving their family worried.

But when Sam Dingle tries to take matters into his own hands, things quickly turn sour when Eric Pollard is caught in their financial mess.

Also, next week, Gabby Thomas will also be caught off guard when her attempts to seduce Nicky goes pear-shaped.

Death confirmed

The opening of the B&B takes place in Emmerdale next week

Bob is evidently deflated when Bernice confirms a harpist who she clearly fancies will be their act for the opening night of the new and improved B&B.

Meanwhile, Cathy has another frustrated outburst and is outraged when Bob suggests she should stay elsewhere for the opening of the B&B.

The following day, Cathy accidentally destroys the cake Marlon has just brought over and feeling humiliated, Cathy flees away from the scene in tears.

Bernice tries to calm Cathy down

As things start to get out of hand, Bob’s left utterly frazzled by the turn of events as Bernice tries to calm Cathy down.

Bernice gives her an amethyst pendant to help with her stress, but when Cathy attempts to apologise to Bob she loses her temper once again when he admits he’d rather she kept away from the B&B completely.

Having reached her boiling point, Cathy stamps on the amethyst pendant and crushes it.

The opening day of the B&B is turbulent

As she descends into confused and frustrated tears, Cathy just can’t comprehend why she’s feeling this way.

It’s now the day of the B&B’s grand re-opening and Bernice awakes blissfully in the B&B bedroom after a night with Tim the harpist.

When she realises she’s seriously overslept, she rushes herself into a panicked form of action and quickly covers for her absence with an exasperated Bob.

The harpist fails to arrive to the event

During the afternoon, in the B&B, Bob and Bernice anxiously await their first customers to arrive, as defensive Bernice covers for Tim the harpist’s no-show.

As the guests for the re-opening begin to make their way inside the venue, Bernice revels in her role as hostess but she’s left feeling overwhelmed and shocked when Bob informs her that he’s found Tim the harpist dead.

But when Noah learns that Samson has been looking after Esther in his absence he remains suspicious of his cousin’s true intentions.

Sam is also feeling the pinch and wants to also provide for his granddaughter financially.

Elsewhere Samson begins to toy with Noah as he seeks to worm his way back into Amelia’s good books.

Soon Noah is taken aback when Samson manipulates him into offering a pay off from his trust fund to keep away from Esther.

But Samson is surprisingly chuffed when Noah agrees to a payout, offering him two grand to keep away from Amelia and Esther for good.

Later on, Sam moots the idea to Cain of giving Dan a pay rise to help with paying for Esther but Cain is reluctant and resists.

When Cain suggests that as a Dingle he needs to think outside the box instead, Sam decides to take considerable action.

While in the local Shop, Sam tries to distract Pollard while he steals baby stuff for Esther but he’s confronted by a suspicious Pollard and as he panics, he quickly flees the scene.

But determined not to let him get away with his crime, on Main Street, while in hot pursuit of Sam who is making a run for it, Pollard trips and hits his head.

Looking down in shock and horror at an unconscious Pollard, Sam worries about what he’s done.

Will it be too late for Pollard?

Gabby becomes increasingly frustrated when her advances towards Nicky keep getting brushed off and put to one side.

Trying to see whether he would crack, Gabby finally ignites a spark with Nicky when she asks him to zip up her dress.

Knowing his eyes are all over her body, Gabby is pleased to finally be getting somewhere with him at last.

Realising that her position as his boss is most likely making him reluctant to start something with her, Nicky is left feeling unimpressed when Gabby temporarily fires him so they can have their fun.

But Gabby is left floundering when Nicky unexpectedly quits his job instead.
