While Ferne said she is not able to give her “full truth” yet to do an ongoing criminal investigation, she did issue an apology.

She said: “It definitely wasn’t my finest hour and it definitely was a difficult time of my life when those voice notes were leaked.

“I need to take this opportunity to publicly apologise again to those affected.

“Obviously the words I used were unpleasant and I have reached out privately to those people.

“It’s very difficult because I’d love to sit here with you guys and share exactly what went on but its now part of a criminal investigation so I can’t do that.

“What I can say is that these voice notes are from a time when I was in a very vulnerable situation five to six years ago.

Since then I have done a lot of work on myself and I’ve been in therapy for six years and I feel I am a different person.”

In a lengthy Instagram statement, Ferne previously apologised to Sophie for having to “relive that night and the pain that followed.”
