You can leave your hat on – as Sheffield’s stripping sextet are back in a new TV series of The Full Monty.
Set 25 years after the film in 1997, it sees all the main stars return and looks at what happened to the characters – after putting their kit back on.
The movie reflected the devastation left by the collapse of the Sheffield steel industry and the TV reboot similarly looks at how they are coping with the hardships of today’s society.

But what have the stars been up to since? Daily Star takes a look.
Robert Carlyle – Gary “Gaz” Schofield
Skint chancer Gaz came up with idea of setting up the stripping troupe as a way to earn money for child support.
In the new series, he now has a teenager daughter.
After The Full Monty, Robert – who left school at 16 to work as a decorator – was Bond villain Renard in The World Is Not Enough, appeared in the music video for Oasis track Little By Little and was in 28 Weeks Later.
More recently he starred in 2019’s War of the Worlds series for BBC and played the PM in Sky One drama Cobra. Known for his commitment to roles, when he reprised psychotic Begbie for Trainspotting sequel T2, he had a dental implant taken out and lost another tooth in the process.
Robert, 62, has been married to make-up artist Anastasia Shirley since 1997 and they have three children.
Mark Addy – Dave Horsefall
Gaz’s best mate works as a school caretaker in the new show and is still married to Jean.
York-born Mark has gone to be a regular in film and TV – playing Fred Flintstone, appearing in sitcom Trollied and more recently Amazon Prime’s The Rig and the Downton Abbey movie.
He’s maybe best known as King Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones despite getting bumped off in the first series. Mark, 58, is married with three kids.
Tom Wilkinson – Gerald Cooper
Gaz and Dave’s former foreman is hiding his unemployment from his wife in the film.
In real life, Tom has become one of Britain’s best-loved actors, appearing in dozens of films and TV shows including Batman Begins, Valkyrie and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, winning a clutch of awards along the way.
Married with two children, the 75-year-old was made an OBE in 2005.
Steve Huison – Lomper
Security guard Lomper was recruited to the gang after Gaz and Dave interrupt him trying to take his own life.
In the TV series, he’s running a cafe with his husband Dennis.
Leeds-born Steve, 60, has mainly been seen on TV since, most notably playing Eddie Windass in Coronation Street from 2008 to 2011, as well as parts in Where The Heart Is and The Royle Family.
Paul Barber – Barrington ‘Horse’ Mitchell
He was the older man with the killer moves, and since the film Paul – best known for his role as Denzil in Only Fools and Horses – played a club owner in Coronation Street in 2008 and had parts in shows such as Casualty and Dalziel and Pascoe.
Born in Liverpool, the 72-year-old now lives on the seaside in Essex.
Idris Elba once told how Paul had inspired him to become an actor after visiting his drama class.
Hugo Speer – Guy
Guy couldn’t dance but was blessed in other areas.
While he played Nicole Kidman’s brother in a film, Hugo’s main work has been on TV in shows including The Three Musketeers, Marcella, Father Brown and Britannia.
Last year it was reported he was sacked from the show after allegedly exposing himself to a woman, which he denied, but scenes he shot will feature in the series.
He’s married to actress Vivienne Harvey and the pair have two daughters.
Lesley Sharp – Jean Horsefall
Lesley’s performance as Dave’s wife bagged her a BAFTA nomination.
She’s gone to work on big TV series including Playing the Field, Clocking Off and Three Girls, and starred as Janet Scott in ITV’s crime series Scott and Bailey.
The 63-year-old is married to former Coronation Street star Nicholas Gleaves and is a mum of two.
Emily Woof – Mandy
Emily, 56, played Gaz’s former wife Mandy.
The Geordie actress has since been in the film Velvet Goldmine and episodes of Casualty.
In 2016, she appeared in Coronation Street as the detective investigating the murder of Callum Logan (Sean Ward). Emily, who’s also a writer, is married with two children.
Wim Snape – Nathan
Wim was Gaz’s 11-year-old son Nathan and is also back for the new series.
Still acting, he has appeared in a couple of episodes of Emmerdale, Corrie and Gentleman Jack and stars in CBBC’s The Beaker Girls.
Now aged 36, he lives in London with his wife and daughter.
The Full Monty is streaming on Disney+ from June 14
