Gogglebox fans were fuming at a “boring” repeat of a Celebrity version of the show, titled Best Bits.
Viewers, who claimed they were “bored” immediately, slammed the episode on Friday (December 15) as many didn’t realize it would be a repeat. The episode showed celebrity participants from the past all commenting on old television shows that aired several months ago, including Davina McCall, Rylan Clarke and Martin Kemp.
“Nothing worse than settling down to watch a fun recap of the latest telly after a long week, only to realise its a #Gogglebox repeat ,” slammed one fan on X, formerly Twitter. Another would equally annoyed after being forced to watch a repat of ITV’s The Chase earlier in the day.

“#BeatTheChasers & #Gogglebox repeats. Come on #ITV & #Channel4! You can do better than this on a Friday night!.” A third griped: “What has happened to #gogglebox .. series seems shorter .. celebrity again tonight boring!!…”
Channel 4 listed tonight’s episode within its TV guide as “New: Celebrity Gogglebox'” with the description clearly stating that the episode will feature a “collection of the best bits as several famous faces enjoyed top TV including Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef. The 1% Club, Hijack, Antiques Roadshow and The Yorkshire Vet.”
Channel 4 describes the latest series as: “Some of Britain’s favourite personalities hit the sofa as they watch the week’s big shows, sharing their sharp, insightful and funny points of view.” Celebrities featuring in this week’s best bits episode include Rylan Clarke, Martin Kemp, Ellie Simmonds, Tom Grennan and Jane McDonald. A number of famous faces recently joined the Gogglebox cast for the annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser special.

Celebrity names included award-winning actor Stephen Graham. Jennifer Saunders and Beattie Edmondson also took part, as well as Bob Mortimer and Richard Ayoade. Thom Evans and Nicole Scherzinger also appeared on the show.
