Holly Willoughby faces new blow as she’s snubbed by NTAs with fans voting for Alison

This Morning star Holly Willoughby has been snubbed from the TV presenter category for the National Television Awards.

The blonde was on the longlist along with her former hosting partner Phillip Schofield, who has since left the daytime show and ITV amid a scandal that saw him admitting to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger ITV staff member.

But the shortlist has now been released and Holly failed to make the cut, with people instead voting for her fellow This Morning presenter Alison Hammond.

The show’s Martin Lewis has also been shortlisted in the category, with the This Morning stars going up against Bradley Walsh, Claudia Winkleman and Ant and Dec.

However, many fans and people in the industry will expect the TV Presenter prize to go to Ant and Dec, as the cheeky duo have won it a whopping 21 times.

This Morning itself has bagged a spot on the shortlist in the Daytime category and will be battling it out with The Chase, Loose Women and The Repair Shop for the coveted gong.

Elsewhere, Strictly, Britain’s Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off and The Great British Sewing Bee are shortlisted for the Talent Show category.

Love Island will go up against The Traitors, SAS: Who Dares Wins and Race Across The World for the Reality Competition prize.

Late cancer campaigner Deborah James has been posthumously nominated for the Authored Documentary award for Bowelbabe In Her Own Words.

The mum-of-two raised awareness – and millions of pounds for charity – as she battled bowel cancer, and met Prince William and was made a Dame before she died last year aged 40.

Deborah’s programme has been nominated alongside Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction, Rob Burrow: Living With MND and Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now.
