‘I lived and breathed WAG drama for too long, I won’t be watching Rooney doc’

One thing has been made perfectly clear – Nicola McLean has no plans to watch Coleen Rooney’s new documentary.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star was one of Rebekah Vardy’s loudest allies throughout to cut-throat trial, and even after the verdict she spoke out in a defiant post on social media. When one user asked if she believed the former I’m A Celebrity campmate leaked stories to the press, she said: “I stand by Becky all the way.”

But even a year later, the story lives on as Coleen Rooney finally told her side of the story in a three-part series – The Real Wagatha Story – available to stream on Disney Plus. However, Nicola has said that she has no plans to tune in as she has simply had enough.

Asked if she would be watching the documentary, she told The Daily Star: “I might do but it wouldn’t be that it’s not at the top of my list. Do you know what I lived and breathed that for so long that I don’t want to watch anything about it again.”

She added: “I really don’t. It was so part of my life for years. I’m like, I’m over it. I never watch anything that I do, so probably not to be honest.” After the trial and despite the judge’s verdict ruling in Coleen’s favour, Nicola continued to publicly back her friend, and insisted the hate towards her “needs to stop”.

Rebekah, 41, revealed how vile trolls sent sick death threats to her husband Jamie as she battled her Wagatha Christie court case. She slammed those involved and admitted she drew the line at people attacking her family.

Coleen Rooney accused the fellow WAG that someone who had access to her account was secretly leaking stories to the press. Vardy denied the allegations and subsequently sued the star for libel.

In the end after a fierce battle in the high court, Mrs Justice Steyn ruled in favour of Coleen Rooney. They said Vardy “knew of and condoned this behaviour” of her agent Caroline Watt passing information to the press.
