Toadie Rebecchi has become one of Neighbours ‘ most iconic characters, endearing himself to viewers as the person “tragically unlucky in love”.
Joining the soap in January of 1995, Toadie was initially introduced as a troubled teenager, who used the ‘class clown’ act to avoid dealing with his feelings. But as his time in Erinsborough went on, lovable Toadie softened up to become one of the staples of the community.
But for actor Ryan Moloney, things could not be any more different, as he celebrates his 20th wedding anniversary with wife Alison Hayward. Having tied the knot in November 2003, the pair have been loved up ever since.

So, as Ryan and Alison celebrate their china wedding anniversary, Daily Star goes inside Ryan and Alison’s relationship as they mark the happy occasion.
Meeting and tying the knot
Alison and Ryan first met each other after mutual friends had set each other up. After an initial date in the Aussie city of Sydney, the pair grew to be inseparable, travelling back and forth between Sydney and Melbourne before she made the move permanently to be with her beau.
The pair officially made their love official when they tied the not on November 16, 2003. After getting hitched, Ryan and Alison set up camp on a family farm, which has since been affectionately named Chateau S**t-hole.
Since getting married, the pair have gone from strength to strength, having two children together – Erin Grace and Jack. The kids are already in their teenage years, with Jack being 14 years old and Erin Grace aged 16.
Sharing interests
In 2011, Ryan announced that he had taken up an extreme hobby, and had hoped to rope wife Alison in as well. Moloney revealed that he had started training to obtain his pilot’s license.
Speaking to Channel 5 at the time, Ryan admitted that he wanted to be a pilot ever since he was young. He embarked on the journey to become a commercial pilot and promised the first passenger on his plane would be his darling wife Alison.
But despite his aspirations, Alison was less keen to take on the challenge. The Toadie star confessed: “She’s been pretty nervous seeing me behind the controls of any piece of machinery ever since I crashed our car while we were on honeymoon.”
Supporting each other
Following the cancellation of Neighbours after 37 years on the air, Ryan admitted that he “was nothing” after the series ended. He added that due to the job falling through, things became tough for the family as he fought to line-up more acting work.
“Having something that’s been part of your life for 28 years – I’ve spent more of my life on Neighbours than off it,” Ryan said. “It’s an interesting dynamic – from being famous to being nothing all of a sudden.”
To help him get over the show’s presumed death, he began to do up the family farm, together with his wife. However, the stint was short-lived after Neighbours boss Jason Herbison, reached out to Ryan to bring Toadie back to Erinsborough for the revived series.
Moloney jumped at the chance to come back the soap and reprise his role of Toadie on the show. Since the show has come back to screens on streaming platform Amazon Freevee, Ryan’s marriage has continued to stay strong.
