The Chase quizmaster Anne Hegerty told a player to “get lost” after she made a controversial move on the show.
Player Reshma, a young aerospace engineer, joined three other hopefuls on Friday (December 22) all vying to take home a large cash prize. The brunette stunner even touted some very impressive credentials during her introductory chat with host Bradley Walsh.
But despite explaining that she works with satellites and volunteers at a local museum, she appeared to struggle in her cash builder round before landing a score of £5k. After moving over to face chaser Anne – The Governess – she was offered the chance to battle it out for her £5k winnings, go high with £35k or take the low offer of £1k.

She explained that if the low offer wasn’t a minus offer she planned to take it, and shockingly opted for the £1k. Anne was stunned, telling her: “I’m glad that you work on aerospace systems because you won’t get lost when I tell you to get lost.” Fans were fuming at the sensible move and demanded Anne teach her a lesson.
“Come on Anne! Gobble her up,” pleaded one fan on X. “Don’t let her get away with this, Anne!” said another as a third penned: “Dear Anne, please wipe that grin off her face!”
Reshma was still unable to maintain a lead even with the low offer and was soon sent packing. Shortly after, aspiring drama teacher Xander didn’t pale much better. He scored just £1k in his cash builder round after struggling with his questions.
He did opt to forego the low offer like his predecessor did, and fight to take his £1k back to the prize pot. But things took an even more sour turn after he failed to answer a single questions correctly and easily caught by Anne, who was clearly on form during the episode.
“You are on a roll today, Anne!” penned one fan. “Well done Anne!” gushed another. Fortunately, players Alison and David were much more successful, both bringing home £8k for the prize pot for a total of £16k.
They answered a decent 16 questions correctly but Anne continued to dominate. She offered up just one pushback opportunity but caught them with a huge 30 seconds left on the clock.
