Leona Lewis hailed ‘beautiful’ as she joins The Masked Singer UK panel in show shake-up

The Masked Singer UK viewers were left swooning over Leona Lewis as she joined the panel of the ITV guessing game show.

The 38-year-old X Factor champion joined celebrity detectives Rita Ora, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan on the panel for the Christmas special on Monday (December 25) night. The festive characters all hoped they can fool the panel and viewers at home as they attempted to spread Christmas cheer across their performances.

Decorations, Reindeeer, Sprout and Partridge (In A Pear Tree) all took to the stage in a bid to become to champion but viewers were more distracted by special guest Leona after she performed a rendition of her hit One More Sleep before taking a seat on the panel.

It comes after the news that The Masked Singer has reportedly secured the best singers in its history for its 2024 series. Producers managed to sign up a raft of tip top vocalists to compete on the new series. For years the show has been famous for wacky performances but this means it’ll be able to rival The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent when it comes to performances.

Panellist Rita said: “The talent is fantastic. The voices on this series are the best I’ve ever heard and the personalities are so amazing.” Host Joel Dommett added: “We’ve definitely got some of the best vocalists we’ve ever had on the show. I really do feel like we’ve got some of the best we’ve ever had.”

After four years on the box, show chiefs are pulling out all the stops to make sure it’s still must-see telly. They are hoping the new series will be another ratings winner for them. Panellist Jonathan said: “So much work goes into making it as good as possible. The format is such a strong, strange and unique one and I think that’s what people are responding to.

“I’’s fun, silly, doesn’t take itself seriously, it’s beautifully made and always looks spectacular.” Jonathan and Rita are back on the panel alongside Davina and Mo. Some special guests will be joining the panel on the new series. Stars including Jennifer Saunders and Olly Murs will be popping in. It was previously revealed Rita will be missing some episodes of the new series as filming clashes with the US version of the show, which she’s been starring on.

She said: “I’m gutted to be missing some episodes on the new season but keeping my seat warm are some great guest panellists who I’m told are also super competitive and will keep the others on their toes, especially Jonathan! Bring it on.”
