Leonardo DiCaprio wore fake bum for Hollywood movie spanking scene with Robert De Niro

Leonardo DiCaprio has admitted that he wore a fake bum so that Robert De Niro could spank him in his latest blockbuster movie.

The Hollywood icon is starring alongside Robert in Martin Scorsese’s new film Killers of the Flower Moon which is based on a true story. The story follows a major FBI investigation in the 1920s in Osage County in Oklahoma.

The film is based on a book by journalist David Grann however one scene was improvised and very off script. Businessman William Hale (Robert) marries MollIe Kyle (Lily Gladstone) and they plan to kill members of the Osage family to steal their Oklahoma land.

However, Wiliam’s nephew Ernest Buckhart (Leonard) ruins the plan and then gets punished by his uncle. He tells the grown man to bend over before spanking him with a wooden paddle.

The film’s cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto admitted that this wasn’t a part of the script but Leonardo came protected. Rodrigo told Insider: “I don’t think that was in the first script.

“I do remember doing them quite a few times and thinking, “Oh, that must hurt”. There was some padding on his butt. But you could tell De Niro was really hitting him. Leo is game for so much. He’ll do anything.”

For those wanting a cheeky glimpse at Leo’s bum, the cinematographer explained the scene takes place halfway through the movie, which spans three hours and 26 minutes. The film has been praised so far and scored 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Lily Gladstone has received glowing reviews for her acting in the movie and Julie O’Keefe, who served as lead wardrobe consultant spoke about how Lily related to her character Mollie. She told Metro: “It was so moving how Lily relied on her”

“I made her clothing and designed it based on photographs, but the nuance of how she wore her blanket and her shawl was so important for it to make her feel she was Mollie.”
