Lizzo has broken her silence amid recent claims of sexual harassment and fat-shaming made against her by former dancers.
In the post, Lizzo wrote: “These last few days have been gut wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing. My work ethic, morals and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticised.”
Lizzo went on to say that “usually she chooses not to respond to false allegations”.

The singer also said the claims are “as unbelievable as they sound” and “too outrageous to not be addressed,” before calling the allegations “sensationalised stories” that “came from former employees” who Lizzo says have “publicly admitted they were told their behaviour was inappropriate and unprofessional” while touring.
In the second slide, Lizzo admitted she “has always been passionate about what she does” and “takes her music and performances seriously” because she “wants to put out the best art that represents her and her fans”.
The singer said that “with passion comes hard work and high standards” before admitting that she “sometimes has to make hard decisions,” although it is “never her intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable”.
She went on to say that she is “not the villain she has been portrayed as in the last few days” before stating that “there is nothing she takes more seriously than respect”.
The star said she “would absolutely never criticise or terminate an employee because of their weight”.
She closed by admitting she is “hurt” but will not let herself “be overshadowed by this” and “thanked everyone who has supported her” during this time.
Lizzo’s statement comes after claims made against her by her former dances, who accused the Juice singer of sexual harassment and fat shaming.
A lawsuit has been filed against the singer for creating a “hostile work environment” and one dancer claimed Lizzo pressured them into touching a naked performer.
The alleged incident occurred at a club in Amsterdam.
According to Variety, the lawsuit says: “Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performer’s vagina’s and eating bananas protruding from the performer’s vaginas.”
It has also been alleged that Lizzo pressured a dancer to “touch the breasts” of the nude performers and began to chant although the dancer refused three times.
