Yet one familiar face may surprise you with their impressive achievements two decades on. To mark the film’s memorable milestone, Daily Star has taken a deep dive into where Harry’s mistress is now. Let’s take a look.
Loyal fans of the film will remember her as the brunette beauty played the role of temptress Mia who stole the heart of Alan Rickman’s character Harry. Actress Heike Makatsch arguably plays the most hated character in the film after the sexy receptionist desperately tried to have an affair with her married boss.
It is never fully disclosed in the film if Harry cheated on his wife Karen (played by Emma Thompson), however the storyline certainly left audiences full of anger and heartache. Towards the end of the film, Karen finds a necklace in her husband’s coat pocket and assumed it’s for her.
She finally discovers the truth when she opens her Christmas present from her husband to find that it’s a Joni Mitchell CD. Audiences were left heartbroken as Emma’s character broke down in the bedroom before putting on a strong front for her children.
In the final few scenes, the scantily clad Mia is seen proudly wearing the necklace. While fans held out hope that Harry didn’t go through with the affair, script editor Emma Freud confirmed that they definitely did.
