Love Island All Stars in ‘chaos’ as show icon quits just days before filming kicks off

Love Island All Stars has faced a last minute shake-up as one reality star has reportedly pulled out just days before the cast jet to South Africa.

The new series will feature iconic singletons from previous series who are still on the hunt to find their perfect match. According to The Sun, ITV bosses were desperate to sign up Anna Vakili, who rose to fame on the show in 2019.

Despite bosses being “hell bent” on Anna entering the villa, the 33-year-old appeared to have a change of heart. A source told the publication: “Love Island producers were hell bent on getting Anna for the All Stars series as she was part of the one of the highest rated series of the show ever.

“She was guaranteed to bring the drama, which is just what this series is all about. Anna went in for a string of meetings and even got as far as booking the medical all islanders have to take before entering the villa, but then at the last minute had a change of heart.

The source added: “She’ll always be grateful for her Love Island changed her life, but feels like you can’t repeat history. She has a lot going on, especially with her hit podcast, so decided to focus on that instead.”

The pharmacist had a dramatic time in the villa, with her infamous row with ex-boyfriend Jordan Hames still one of the most memorable moments. Despite Anna no longer featuring in the line-up, viewers will no doubt still have their drama fix.

As for who’s returning, Anna’s former co-star Michael Griffiths has been tipped to make a comeback. The 33-year-old was initially interested in eventual winner Amber Gill but later struck up a romance with Joanna Chimonides.

Another who could be making a comeback is Paige Thorne. The Welsh paramedic appeared on Love Island in 2022 and enjoyed a blossoming romance with Jacques O’Neill.

But after he dramatically left the villa, she coupled up with bombshell Adam Collard, who first starred on the show in 2018. They called it quits shortly after when rumours surfaced of Adam cheating.

2021 runner-up Chloe Burrows might be jetting off to South Africa to find love again. The 28-year-old’s romance with Toby Amorolaran continued outside of the villa but they called it quits one year later.

Chloe was reportedly considered a “top priority” for bosses as an insider told The Sun: “Ask fans of the show for their Love Island legends and Chloe Burrows name is always mentioned – viewers loved her with Toby but she’s one of the few who is just as popular as a single, too. If anything, she is even more loved now than she was during her series’ time in the spotlight.”
