Love Island’s All Stars series is reportedly in turmoil after the stars of the show have demanded far more money than what ITV bosses had been planning.
No specific names are confirmed to be returning to the show as yet, but insiders close to the show have claimed the contestants are not happy with the money they are receiving for the gig. The returning Islanders have hit out at producers for only offering them £2,000 a week to take part.
The show, which launches on ITV2 in just three weeks time, could now be in jeopardy as the contestants demand a huge increase in pay, with some looking for more than the 433% pay rise offered to take part. Sources working behind the scenes claimed that some have not even signed on the dotted line.

Speaking to The Sun, one insider close to the hit programme said: “Most of the returning stars have already filmed promo videos for Love Island All Stars but haven’t signed their contracts. They are pushing ITV for more cash because they’re saying £2,000 a week isn’t enough.
“Many of the Islanders rely on their social media deals to make cash and by going into the villa, their revenue source will be down,” they continued. “They want their pay to reflect this but Love Island bosses are holding strong.”
The source also said that the cast members are trying to band together to put up a united front for more money. However, ITV bosses believe the £2k a week pay offer is as good as its going to get. They added that the show will provide an extra boost for their visibility and offer more opportunities for them to land more branding deals when they leave the show.
And it seems that producers at the show are honing in on what they want from the Islanders this time around. A second insider revealed that bosses at the station were making “a conscious effort” to only book stars that want to find love.
“They want the celebs to be genuine about having a second chance at meeting their soul mate rather than using the chance of going into the villa again as an opportunity to make money,” the source explained. “It’s gearing up to be a very exciting series and producers are confident that they’ll get a great cast for the new series.”
The all-stars edition of the hit dating show will see the return of host Maya Jama as the show relocates to South Africa. The show will also replace the winter edition of Love Island, which had been taking place in January but faltered due to low ratings.
Love Island All Stars is set to air in the new year on ITV2 and ITVX.
