Love Island's Kai 'won't turn back on teaching' as he plans return to education

Love Island winner Kai Fagan is planning to return to teaching following his epic win on Monday night (March 13).

The 24-year-old science and PE teacher stole the nations’ hearts as he found love with social worker Sanam Harrinanan.

But despite winning £50,000 on the popular dating show, Kai still plans to return to the class room.

Speaking openly in his exit interview, he said: “Before I came in here I wanted to start up a business and help kids get into physical activity.

“I don’t want to turn my back on teaching, working with young kids and think I will use some of that to do that. I am not sure yet in what capacity.”

Meanwhile his partner Sanam appeared to agree and said she still wants to continue working with children too.

The 24 year old said told ITV: “That’s similar to me. I came from social work – working with children who have been adopted.

“I know that sometimes in my area there can be limited services, so for me I want to be able to do something to aid and support them, being an advocate for them,” she explained.

The popular couple recently revealed that they both planned to spend their winnings on a holiday with Kai mentioning that he also has many dates planned with Sanam.

Talking openly on The Morning After podcast, Kai said: “We have about a thousand dates planned. We said we want to go to the Amalfi coast and Santorini. I feel like they are more holidays than dates.

“Maybe invest a little bit.”

Meanwhile Sanam added: “I am going to be soppy but I am going to give my mum some of course because it’s just me and mum so I have got to support her as well.

“I was literally on the phone going ‘Mum you are getting some, I don’t care what Kai says you are getting some’ and the rest we will spend on ourselves, invest and build something with it.”

According to the voting figures released by ITV, Kai and Sanam won the show with a 44% lead.

Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins received 30%, Tom Clare and Sami Elishi received 24% and Shaq Muhammed and Tanya Manhenga came in 4th place receiving 2% of the viewers votes.
