Love Island contestants Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins seemed to be happy winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrianan as they congratulated them during the final, but body language expert Darren Stanton says otherwise.
Speaking to Betfair Bingo, Darren says the second place duo appeared to be “truly gutted” and “disappointed” after missing out on the winning spot and the £50,000 cash prize.
“I definitely believe Ron and Lana expected to win during last night’s final,” he revealed. “Ahead of the winners being announced, their expressions were the height of anticipation and suspense, which clearly proved they wanted to win.

“They went on to display signals of disappointment, shock and disbelief, based on their facial expressions and body language.
“However, they quickly recovered and congratulated Kai and Sanam. It’s clear Ron and Lana were truly gutted over coming second,” he explained.
Darrent then analysed the couples connection, stating that he thinks the duo showed a “stronger bond” than Kai and Sanam and have a “greater chance” of surviving on the outside.
“In terms of connection, I believe Ron and Lana have shown a stronger bond and rapport out of the two couples,” he said. “They definitely have a greater chance of surviving when placed back into reality.”
However, Ron cast doubt in viewers minds after he told host Maya Jama that he wanted to “miss” Lana for a bit as they were asked about their living situations outside of the villa.
Lana will return to her home in Cheshire, while Ron will go back to his lavish Essex mansion.
When asked if they’d move in together, Ron said: “Not yet, we’ll have our own bases… we’ve spoken about it.”
Lana added: “We’re going to spend a lot of time together, aren’t we?”
However, it was Ron’s next remark that left fans confused as he admitted: “I want to miss her for a bit, I want to miss her!”
