Mae Muller has broken her silence after finishing second from last in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
The UK entrant looked devastated on Saturday night (May 13) after her vibrant tune I Wrote A Song scored just 24 points from the jury and public votes.
Germany was also hit with a low blow during last night’s final as they came last with only 15 points as Sweeden took the number one spot, once again.

But since her defeat, singer Mae has thanked her fans and online followers for their continuous support.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “I just want to say thank u x I know I joke a lot but we really put our all into the last few months.
“Not the result we hoped for but so proud of everyone & what we achieved on this journey.
“Congrats to all the countries. I’ll never forget this journey and I love you all,” she added.
Seeing her wholesome response, fans online rushed to support her while also sharing their thoughts on her devastating loss.
One social media user wrote: “Let’s be honest. The UK could put Paul McCartney or Elton John on there and Europe still wouldn’t vote for us. It’s all politics and it’s about time we said no more.”
Another penned: “Your placing has no relation to the epic banger of the song you wrote. Everyone I was watching with thought you smashed it. Looking forward to hear what’s next from you xx.”
While a third said: “The way you’ll never have to pay for a drink on canal st ever again – you should be exceptionally proud of yourself.
“You ate that stage up, and created one of the strongest entries this country has ever had, under some horrific so-called scrutiny.”
Things weren’t looking promising for Mae when the judges from each European country delivered their points.
Banking on votes from the general public, the singer and the audience in Liverpool were left stunned when she only received 9 points.
But although fans online have supported the 25-year-old, some have still been left furious over the comments she previously made about the UK.
In resurfaced tweets, Mae said “I hate this country” as she shared her take on free school meals.
She also mentioned that she didn’t “feel sorry” for Boris Johnson when he was hospitalised after contracting Covid in 2020.
