Neighbours legend quits SAS Who Dares Wins after being called ‘sphincter lips’

Viewing SAS Who Dares Wins as an opportunity to escape reality to rebuild his public image, Neighbours icon, Craig McLachlan, entered the show with a spring in his step and came away with possibly the most peculiar nickname in reality TV history.

With the programme renowned for testing people to their limits both mentally and physically, the actor knew he’d be pushed towards his breaking point, but it probably didn’t come in the way he’d have expected.

While the contestants gathered around the table for a much-needed spot of breakfast, they revealed that the 58-year-old’s new moniker is ‘Sphincter Lips’.

As the New South Wales performer settled down for a spot of eggs for his morning meal, things went awry, when he started struggling to consume a hard-boiled egg.

As he opened his mouth in a bid to consume the slimy egg, it slipped out of his mouth, and he started gagging. Luckily, he had a helping hand, in the form of ex-Aussie Rules player, Abbey Holmes. However, her words of encouragement probably weren’t to his liking.

She asserted: “Get it down, sphincter lips!” Now, we’re at a complete loss as to where that nickname comes from. Therefore, viewers are left to either wait in anticipation for an explanation or let their imagination run wild and come up with their own backstory.

Unsurprisingly, upon hearing the vulgar pseudonym, Olympian Matthew Mitcham, nearly choked on his own egg. After a period of coughing and spluttering, he mustered: “Sphincter Lips?”

And in news that will come as an almighty shock, it turns out that not only does Craig like the name, but he actually came up with it himself. Abbey confirmed: “It’s what he calls himself.”

As it turns out, the actor has actually performed quite well on the show, making a mockery of ‘The Bachelor’ star Tim Robards, on a high ropes-esque challenge.

However, his time on the programme has been cut short after he quit during the middle of a brutal midnight drill. Clinching his body, he shrieked: “I need to see the doc! I need to see the doc! It’s like a hot knife through f**king butter.”
