Phillip Schofield ‘set for TalkTV job’ after ITV axe – but only on one condition

Phillip Schofield could land a job at TalkTV and restart his career after his sensational ITV exit, an expert has revealed.

But if only if no new allegations come out against the axed This Morning host following his dramatic affair scandal, said Andy Barr, CEO of 10 Yetis Digital.

Phillip has quit TV and says he doesn’t see a future for his career, admitting he now has to talk about TV in the “past tense.”

It comes after he admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague at ITV while married to his wife Stephanie – and lying to everybody about it.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Barr explained that TalkTV could be the “perfect place” for Phillip to restart his career if he wants to return to the silver screen.

He said: “TalkTV could be the career rebuilding platform that Schofield needs right now,.

“If the current media spotlight reveals no new allegations then this is entirely recoverable for him and TalkTV could be the perfect place for him to start again in a high profile media environment.”

TalkTV host Piers Morgan has defended Phillip

Andy explained that Phillip should take time out from the spotlight to protect his mental health – and the British public would be expecting him to do this anyway.

“I think the public will expect him to have a career break before announcing his comeback,” he added.

“Not least so that he can protect his mental health and get any and all the support that he needs from those around him.”

Piers Morgan, TalkTV’s most prominent anchor, has leapt to Phillip’s defence and called for an end to his “relentless persecution”.

He wrote: “Unless Phillip Schofield’s ex-lover contradicts his version of events to @TheSun & BBC, then it’s time to stop this relentless persecution of a guy who’s lost everything and looks right on the edge to me.

“He doesn’t seem to have committed any crime, and he’s not a Govt minister.”

Talking about his future in TV, Phillip previously said: “I have to talk about television in the past tense, which breaks my heart. I have lost everything.”

TalkTV has scooped up plenty of big broadcasters who left mainstream networks following controversy, including Piers and Jeremy Kyle.

“If I get through this I don’t know how I move forward. What am I going to do with my days?

“I see nothing ahead of me but blackness and sadness and regret and remorse and guilt. I did something very wrong and then I lied about it consistently… consistently lied about. You can’t live with that.

“How do you live with that?”
