Rebel Wilson has revealed she sought permission from Disney CEO Bob Iger before proposing to girlfriend Ramona Agruma at Disneyland, California, last week.
The Australian actress, 43, popped the question in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle in the Anaheim theme park and is now planning a full-on ‘no expenses-spared’ Disney wedding.
Fans had questioned why Pitch Perfect star Rebel had thanked Iger personally in her Instagram post announcing the engagement.

But following an interview with fellow actress Drew Barrymore on her self-titled chat show, her reason is made much clearer.
Rebel explains: “He’s the big, big boss and I thought, ‘Well, if he says yes, then it was meant to be’, and I was meant to propose that day at Disneyland.
“I had to get special permission to get a special area roped off and get the topiary trees in and, you know, I had a violinist playing like Disney classics, and it was very, really romantic.”
The magnitude of the occasion appeared to almost get the better of Rebel, as she added: “Afterwards we went on a ride, this new ride they had, and I kind of collapsed afterwards.
“Because I’d never been engaged before, or proposed to, or proposed. So it was such a huge thing in my life. I literally collapsed on the floor for five minutes. And then I go, ‘OK, I’m good. Let’s get churros and move on’.”
The couple went public with their relationship in June 2022 – an occasion that marked Rebel’s coming out.

Disney played a key part in that announcement too, with Rebel declaring on Instagram: “I thought I was searching for a Disney Prince… but maybe what I really needed all this time was a Disney Princes #loveislove.”
Speaking on the Life Uncut podcast last month, the Hollywood star revealed that her in-laws seemed to struggle to come to terms with news of the pair’s romance.
Explaining the initial reactions, Rebel revealed: “Ramona’s family hasn’t been as accepting and so in many respects it’s been a lot harder on her to have to make the news public… like how we had to.”
She added: “With me, it was a couple of hurried conversations that I would have liked to have just taken my time with, so that was a bit difficult.
“But at the end of the day, I was probably going to, in a few months’ time, make it Instagram official as they say.”
