In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the content creator says that as he dealt with his mental health issues, he became fixated around the idea of becoming a father.

He admitted: “I don’t know why I’m saying is because Zara is not pregnant and we’re not even talking about having a kid. But I had this thing in my head where I was just like, I want to be a dad one day.

“I’m almost quite scared about how like, I struggled to book a flight or I struggled to do quite minor things that are admin-y like struggling to pay a bill, or struggling to meet my friends on time, like I can’t do that if I’m a dad.

“I don’t know, for some reason, it was always about being a father. And I’m not even a father. I’m nowhere near a father. But I just say, at some point, I need to be an adult, and be able to look after people and I need to be able to look after myself.

Sam admitted that he struggled focus on simple day-to-day activities as well as meaningful conversations, and he wondered whether there was something deeper or if he was just immature.

“I started struggling quite a bit. And I started thinking about, you know, what I want to be when I’m a father and stuff, you know, how am I going to be a dad?

“And how am I going to look after a child if I can’t even look after myself at the moment? And does that mean that I’m just really immature, or is there another reason behind it?

“At some point, I need to be an adult, and be able to look after people and I need to be able to look after myself. I don’t know why know why I struggled to do the small tasks, and it would really frustrate me.”

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old star also opened up on his relationship through the process and he gushed about how his loving girlfriend has helped him deal with his ADHD diagnosis.

Sam revealed: “She has been brilliant, like she is probably the most relaxed person I’ve ever met in my life, [which] is probably why she’s with me because like she just deals with me so well.

“I’m always thinking how do I get so f****** lucky? She was really honest and be open, she was in this documentary quite a bit, and she didn’t have to be at all.

“She told me how my ADHD affected her a little bit, but she was just like, she loves me and I thought that was just so awesome and she’s been so supportive.

But the star admitted despite his strong feelings, he would also become critical of his own behavior.

He explained: “To be honest, the more negative stuff has actually come from me, to me.

“It’s more me actually sitting there going, ‘why can’t you f******, without Zara even knowing, me being like ‘why can’t you listen to what’ [she is saying] and focus on what she’s saying’ because there are times where she thinks I am.

“And I’m sitting there going, ‘listen, focus, be present, like you love this girl’, like she tried to have a conversation with something that matters to her, and you’re like thinking about this [random] noise it’s happening over there.

“So a lot of the time it’s from me to me and she’s just so lovely that you know, and it doesn’t even really seem to bother her that much to be fair, but she’s been so just amazing and supportive and I’m incredibly lucky to have her.”
