Strictly Come Dancing fans saw Nikita Kanda and Les Dennis both compete in the dance off on Sunday night (October 1).
While the judges ultimately saved Nikita and her professional partner Gorka Marquez from getting the boot, it seemed the odds were stacked against them. The BBC radio presenter had performed her Charleston to Beyonce’s Single Ladies the night before and landed 18 points.
But after their stint on Saturday night, some viewers were convinced they noticed a change when they performed it again on the Sunday night episode. Viewers immediately flooded to social media to share their complaints.

One user wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “The music for Gorka’s routine was too fast.” Another said: “Did they do the dirty on Nikita tho with the speed of the song – its RI-DIC-ULOUSLY fast – don’t think even Beyonce could keep up with that!!”
A third said the band were playing “double time” with the singers having to “catch up”. A fourth wrote: “Firmly believe Gorka and Nikita are in the dance off purely because of the music they danced to.”
The music didn’t hold them back though and Nikita and Gorka have danced their way through to Movie Week after being saved by all the judges. Meanwhile Les Dennis and Nancy Xu were the first couple to be booted off the competition.
Although it is always sad to see a celebrity head home, fans rushed online to say they had made the right decision in saving Gorka and Nikita. After the judges made their decision, Nikita thanked them publicly on Instagram and shared her gratitude.
She wrote: “So grateful to be saved by the judges! What an emotional weekend, this is a rollercoaster but thank you for all the support, I’m having the time of my life on Strictly. Onwards and upwards to movie week!
“Thank you Gorka for being the biggest support by my side, I couldn’t of got through yesterday without you my friend.” Gorka told her that he was “proud of her” and added they were “in it together”.
Fans flocked to her post to share their support as one user wrote: “So happy you are through.” Another added: “Brilliant dance off performance… loosen those hips and go again next week.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday.
