Taylor Swift has opened up about her public feud with reality star Kim Kardashian in an recent interview where she was crowned Person of the Year by Time Magazine.
The star explained the feud started when Kim’s then-husband Kanye West released his 2016 song Famous to include vulgar and explicit lyrics about the Love Story star. The lyrics were: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b**ch famous”.
Kanye claimed that the pop star consented to the lyrics but Taylor denied and complained about them, but Kim released a video of the singer and Kanye on the phone to make it seem like she was fine with the song, and that Taylor was being dishonest. Taylor has now claimed the video was “an illegally recorded phone call” edited to prove Kanye’s point.

Talking about the fallout from the incident Taylor described it to TIME Magazine as a “career death” which forced her to hide away in a rental home. She said: “Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me.
“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar. That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.
“I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls.” It is not known where Taylor moved too as she fell out of the public eye completely.
She said: “I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard. I thought that moment of backlash was going to define me negatively for the rest of my life.” Lucckily Taylor has bounced back and released many hit songs since.

The drama between Taylor and Kanye may have been bubbling to the surface since as early as 2009. Loyal fans will remeber when Taylor got on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards and accepted the Best Female Video award for You Belong with Me.
However seemingly out of the blue in the middle of her acceptance speech, Kanye jumped on the stage, grabbed the microphone out of her hands and said: “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you and Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

Beyonce later pulled Taylor on stage and let her have her moment but the feud continued in 2016 when Kanye rapped about Taylor in his song Famous. The lyrics said: “For all my South Side n****s that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b**** famous..”
A Taylor lookalike was seen in the video lying naked next to the rap star. Kim and Kanye both said that he had consent from Taylor for the lyrics which she denied. Kim then “leaked a recording of Taylor on a phone call” saying: “I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song. It’s just a really cool thing to do, and a really good show of friendship.”
