Laura Hamilton has opened up about the “scary” question people kept asking her after her divorce.
The A Place in the Sun host, 42, announced that she was separating from her ex-husband Alex Goward after nine years of marriage in 2022. The couple share two children together – 10-year-old son Rocco and eight-year-old daughter Tahlia.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, the broadcaster confirmed that she is officially dating again. Over the past few months, the blonde bombshell has been linked to business CEO James Pettigrew, 44, who is in the process of divorcing his wife.

Following her divorce, Laura said that she doesn’t feel like she “failed” at her marriage because of her two “amazing” children. However, the doting mum revealed that some people did question the couple’s decision to separate.
She told the publication about her fears of leaving her marriage at the age of 39, which she described as a “scary” time to be on her own. Laura told the outlet: “I’ve always been quite a strong and independent person.
“I don’t feel like I was ‘starting again’. I never really speak about why I separated, which I think is why there’s this fascination about it.
“It feels such a long time ago to me now, and I’ve embraced where I am.” The property expert tied the knot with Alex in the heart of Surry and their nuptials featured prominently in Hello Magazine at the time.
Since then, the star admitted she has “massively learnt” from having a public relationship. So much so that moving forward, she had vowed that her love life will remain private.
She told the publication: “It won’t be a secret – people I’m close to will know what’s going on – but it will be confidential. Just because you’re in the public eye, it doesn’t mean you have to have everything out there for everyone to see.”
It comes after the mum-of-two addressed a series of weight loss rumours during her lavish trip to Croatia. The broadcaster has been delighting her loyal legion of fans with a series of sun-soaked snaps online since her trip began.
But last week, the presenter decided to speak directly to her followers after she noticed some concerning comments on her online posts. She began: “I’ve read a few comments about weight loss [online].
“Yes, I have lost weight. I’ve been following a healthy weight loss programme. I’ve also been reading a few comments saying that I’ve been using weight loss injections.
“Nothing against anyone who has been using weight loss injections, but I haven’t been using them. And I really feel like people shouldn’t just jump to conclusions and make presumptions about anything.”
Laura then sat down and revealed that she has previously been branded being “short, fat and stumpy”. She explained: “I’ve actually been someone that’s been criticised for being short, fat and stumpy.
“I’m only 5ft 2 so I’ve been told I’ve got fat legs and now I’m getting told I’m too skinny. So, I feel like if you don’t have anything positive to say, it’s probably best not to say anything at all and don’t jump to conclusions.”
