Alison Hammond shuts down This Morning co-star saying ‘that’s enough’

During Monday’s episode of This Morning, host Alison Hammond found herself a tad embarrassed while discussing the upcoming World Gravy Wrestling Championships held in Lancashire. When asked by Gyles Brandreth if he’d enjoy a dip in loads of gravy, the 76-year-old shared his childhood love for mud wrestling and jokingly committed to join the championships if chips and Yorkshire puddings were involved.

Alison proceeded to share how challenging wrestling can be, recounting her Big Brother experience: “Wrestling is hard you know. I tried it on Big Brother – they gave me all the stuff. Honestly, I’ve never been so out of breath in my life! It is one of the hardest things ever.”

The host suggested that Alison’s co-host Joel Dommett could participate in custard or gravy wrestling when he returns to front the ITV show. But Alison was quick to put down the offer with a firm: “That’s enough of that, that’s enough I’m not wrestling no one.”

Alison is leading This Morning as regular hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take their summer holiday. Despite being usually paired with Dermot O’Leary, Alison was alongside Joel Monday morning.

Overjoyed to work with the Masked Singer star, she began the show by saying: “I am so excited! It’s only Joel Dommett, welcome back. You’ve done this before, this is your home,” reports the Mirror.

He responded: “I’ve genuinely always wanted to do this show with you. Honestly, this is a dream come true.”

In the midst of their excitement, Joel humorously suggested that things could only go downhill from here. Updating viewers on his personal life, he mentioned his 10-month-old baby, Wilde Cooper-Dommett, saying: “He’s teething now so excuse these bags under these eyes but I’m trying my best! “.

Over the summer, ITV viewers can look forward to seeing a variety of familiar faces presenting the show, including Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes, Sian Welby, and Joel Dommett.

Martin Frizell, the editor of This Morning, expressed his excitement about the summer hosting lineup, stating: “Viewers will not want to miss a moment this summer! The shows will be packed and whatever the weather, the team in front of the cameras and behind will deliver plenty of content to keep the nation smiling.”
